Amber Lewandowski is currently a Transplant Social Worker at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has experience working with transplant patients since 2008 and brings skills working with heart, lung, and liver transplant patients, as well as LVAD and living donor patients. Amber is devoted to her patients and the transplant community. Her goal is to make sure patients have the support they need in order to navigate life before and after transplant. She has been published with a focus on increasing global awareness of the importance of the psychosocial aspects of transplantation. She joined the Second Chance at Life Board in 2017 to continue her advocacy efforts for patients. Amber finds great joy in bringing all of the pieces of transplantation together, from direct patient care to research and policy making.
